Waywords and Meansigns is headed to Europe!
On Tuesday 14 June, Waywords and Meansigns director Derek Pyle will present at the James Joyce Centre in Dublin. Part of their Bloomsday Festival programme, Pyle will discuss the aim and scope of the project. Following Pyle’s presentation will be a short performance from renowned composer and performer Seán Mac Erlaine. Tuesday 14 June at 6:30PM, €5.00 ticket. The week of 13 June, Waywords and Meansigns will offer a sound installation at the XXV International James Joyce Symposium in London. For the entire duration of the Symposium, the project’s 61 hours worth of audio will play as a continuous loop, in a sound booth at the University of London’s Senate House Library. This year’s Symposium is hosted by the Institute of English Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London, Monday 13 June – Saturday 18 June. On Wednesday 15 June, Usurp Art in London hosts an intimate evening of Waywords and Meansigns performances. Lunatic fringe mainstay Neil Campbell will headline the evening. There will be performances from Conspirators of Pleasure (Simon Underwood and Poulomi Desai), Simon Ross, and Ollie Evans, plus special guests. On Thursday 16 June, Waywords and Meansigns will present at the XXV International James Joyce Symposium in London. Director Derek Pyle will moderate a panel with project contributors Daniel Bristow of Aleorta, scholar Ollie Evans and Polish translator Krzysztof Bartnicki. Thursday 16 June, Session L, 9:30-11AM at the Sympoisum.
