Matt Battle is a multi-instrumentalist who composes, performs and records music at home. He released his debut solo album ‘Cut Your Teeth’ in the summer of 2016 on Southend Records, and has since then self-released an EP and a second album, What’s it all about? His third album, What’s the difference between yourself and a book?, will be released on Discos La Modelo later this year (2017). Matt has a Masters degree in Literature and Philosophy and an MPhil in Philosophy, disciplines which are extremely influential on his music. Matt has been interested in James Joyce since he can remember; as a boy his mother’s copy of Dubliners was never far from his bedside. Currently Matt Battle lives and works as a teacher, translator and editor in Bogota, Colombia. He was born and grew up in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, in England.
