When I was a kid, my dad made the joke that our house was “Haun”-ted.
It took me a minute to get it. It also took me awhile to figure out the answer to, “Who is buried in Grant’s tomb?” I was slow on the uptake in those days, but eventually I came to appreciate art and its process as humorous and bittersweet. It was something that had a sting to make you feel, and an eye roll of reason to help you understand it. But still sweet nonetheless.
Anyway, it has come to pass that I’ve done some school and seen some things. I consider myself a failed academic with the right ideas because no one wants to hear them. I’ve made some tunes, some pictures, some stories, and some enemies. That seems okay to me.
Cary Haun is an artist, writer, and musician originally from Long Beach, California. His works include multiple studio recordings, design/illustration work, a novel, and an assortment of essays.
