Epiphany Now is an ongoing project of improvised audiovisual experimentation based in Berlin. Three musicians and one visual artist form a symbiotic circle and create a chameleon of sound and light. Eclectic live improvised music floats dreamily between genres and atmospheres, visually supported by projections that blend with the music and create a living sound sculpture.
Its members Loretta Myr, Jana Sotzko, Theresa Stroetges and Benjamin Augustin (visuals) stir up their different backgrounds ranging from experimental pop, math metal, sound art and design and try to forget everything they learned. A pool of electronic and acoustic equipment starts to whirl and incarnates a bang of unexpectedness. Everything can happen – nothing needs to happen. The result is a powerful immersive audiovisual experience for the audience.
For the sonification of a section of Finnegans Wake, Epiphany Now will be accompanied by Irish artist Emma Haugh.
Epiphany Now contributed to the Opendoor Edition of Waywords and Meansigns in 2017, recording page 596 line 23 through page 597 line.
