Alan Ó Raghallaigh is an Irish composer, musician and Joyce scholar. A member of the Irish Composer’s Collective, Alan’s pieces have been pieces performed around Ireland and Norway, including the Contemporary Music Centre in Dublin, The Hilltown New Music Festival and a recent commission from Avgarde in Bergen. He also performs regularly as a musician, playing various types of music including Irish traditional fiddle, free-improvised noise and music for theatre. Alan completed a Master’s degree on Finnegans Wake at University College Dublin, where Joyce also studied.
Alan Ó Raghallaigh contributed to the first edition of Waywords and Meansigns, recording the final ballad section of Book I Chapter 2, “The Humphriad I: His Agnomen and Reputation” with Robert Amos and Chelidon Frame.
