David Kahne is an esteemed music producer, composer, and former record company executive. A pioneer producing punk and new wave music, David was director of A&R at 415 Records in San Francisco. David left 415 to become Vice President of A&R at Columbia Records, a position he later held at Warner Bros Records. Some of the artists David has produced include Fishbone; Presidents of the United States of America, Billy Joel; Shawn Colvin; Bruce Springsteen; Sublime; Stevie Nicks; KD Lang; New Order, The Strokes; Kelly Clarkson; Matisyahu; Taking Back Sunday; Paul McCartney; Regina Spektor; Ingrid Michaelson; and Lana Del Ray. David also produced the album MTV Unplugged: Tony Bennett, which won two Grammys, for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance and Album of the Year. As a composer, David has written three full-length ballets and composed the score for the Dublin-produced “Bloom”, a film adaptation of Ulysses starring Stephen Rea. He also recently composed a piece for Twyla Tharp, “Treefrog@Stonehenge”. He is currently working on the score for two feature films, “As Worlds Collide” and “Sex, Marriage, and Infidelity in New York”.
